Your brief, every morning
What's owed, what's waiting, what's next — one page, every morning, so nothing slips.
Built each morning from the apps you already use — not just the invoices that are late.
Claim a founding spot →Backbrief reads the apps you already use — QuickBooks today, your CRM and payments next — and builds one page each morning: invoices past due, estimates sitting past their usual follow-up window, payments that haven't landed, and anything you've forwarded in yourself, a screenshot or a voice memo, folded in alongside them. It cross-references your own data to surface the gaps — not a dashboard to interpret, just a short list of what needs a human decision today. Your data stays in your apps; Backbrief only reads.
Before you connect anything
Here's the page, not just the idea.
One morning's brief, made up for illustration. No real customer's name, number, or note appears anywhere on this site.
- Riverside Fence Co. Invoice #10452 - $1,850, 46 days overdue
- Corner Bakery Co. $2,400 payment received, not yet applied to an invoice
- Whitmore Electric Estimate sent 9 days ago, no reply yet
- Forwarded voice memo, this morning "Dana wants to start the deck job in two weeks"
I'm Adam Rose - I've run two small businesses myself, and I'm building the thing I wished I'd had. Questions go straight to me: adam@backbrief.io.
What's in the brief
Everything that would otherwise sit and wait.
Invoices and payments
Invoices past due, and payments that came in but haven't landed against anything yet.
Estimates and quotes
Estimates sitting past their usual follow-up window - the opportunities you'd otherwise only notice by accident.
Your own notes
Screenshots and voice memos you send over yourself, folded into the same page rather than left in a separate thread.
The honest objection
"Why not just open QuickBooks myself?"
You can. QuickBooks will show you every invoice, every estimate, every payment - if you go looking, on a day you remember to, across however many screens it takes. It won't tell you which of those things actually needs a decision today, and it definitely won't fold in the voice memo you left yourself about a customer in the truck. That cross-referencing - turning records you already have into a short list of what to act on - is the actual job. Not a summary of your books. A second set of eyes on them, every morning, whether you remembered to look or not.
